Pastor Erik

Associate Pastor of Christian Education

Pastor Erik trusted Christ as his personal Savior at the age of four under the guidance of his father, who was then a Bible institute student, and was baptized at the age of nine. He became a member of Faith Baptist in 1971 after moving to Salem with his wife Carol to attend Western Baptist Bible College. After graduation he continued to serve in a wide variety of roles in the church with particular attention to teaching ministries. Carol went to be with the Lord in 1999. In 2001 he became acquainted with Carmen, and they were married in the autumn of that year. Carmen has been an enthusiastic and valued supported of Erik’s ministry. For 24 years beginning 1997 he ministered to civil war reenactors in the Pacific Northwest as a chaplain. In 2017 upon retiring from secular employment he approached the church leadership about expanded ministry and later that year was received by the church as an associate pastor. His primary areas of ministry are Christian education and men’s ministries.
